ABOUT MICFOOD
MICFOOD builds the Chinese mitten crab value chain on the 6S model – linking scientific research, seed stock, feed and farming technique through to post-harvest and the market.
Minh Phu International JSC was founded in 2011 and has more than 15 years in aquaculture. From the Minh Phu aquatic hatchery, the Da River fish farm and the MICFOOD seafood network, the company moved step by step into research and development of the Chinese mitten crab from 2021.
The company has developed a 108-hectare farming area and stays with farmers from preparing the farm, through care across the whole crop, to harvest and finding a buyer. MICFOOD's direction is to grow mitten crab farming methodically and sustainably, raising product value and widening both the domestic and international markets.

The 6S value chain
MICFOOD builds the mitten crab value chain on the 6S model, linking six stages from scientific research through to the market. The aim is clear: farmers have a procedure to follow, the product has quality worth protecting, and the market has a steady supply to grow on for the long term.
S1 · SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH & INNOVATION
Strategic cooperation with the Vietnam National University of Agriculture, the University of Natural Sciences and Nha Trang University to study the species' biology and refine the mitten crab farming procedure.
S2 · INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION
Comprehensive strategic cooperation with Haorun Group (China) — an output of 45,000 tonnes of crab a year; their experts come over to teach the most advanced mitten crab farming technique.
S3 · SEED STOCK, FEED & FARMING EQUIPMENT
High-quality seed stock from the 108-hectare hatchery system in Hung Yen; CARAMICFEED pellets, trace minerals, aquatic plant stock and probiotics researched specifically for mitten crab; plus farming equipment: pond enclosure netting, environmental monitoring and drone feeding.
S4 · TECHNOLOGY TRANSFER
Transferring the technical procedure to farming households in Ninh Binh, Hai Phong, Bac Ninh, Hung Yen, Quang Ninh, Tuyen Quang, Phu Tho, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An and Ha Tinh; technical support through the whole crop, from building the farm to harvest, and purchase of all standard-grade product.
S5 · PROCESSING & POST-HARVEST PRESERVATION
Investment in a modern packing and processing plant in Long Bien (Hanoi), with packing, freezing and cold storage lines meeting export standards.
S6 · MARKET DEVELOPMENT
A distribution system with a central warehouse in Hanoi. From 2025 MICFOOD exports directly to Taiwan and plans to expand to Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Japan and China in the coming years.

Haorun Group (China) — a crab producer with an output of 45,000 tonnes a year — chose MICFOOD as its strategic partner to build the mitten crab chain in Vietnam.
Experts transferring technique in person
Haorun experts come to Vietnam to train MICFOOD engineers and workers: nursery procedures, stocking density, pond environment management and how to care for crabs through each molt.
Study visits and workshops between the two countries
Every year MICFOOD organises study visits and workshops so that Vietnamese and Chinese farm owners can exchange experience and update their mitten crab farming technique.
Applied to Vietnamese farming areas
The technology received is adapted to Red River delta conditions, then applied across the 108-hectare farming area and the network of partner households, together with CARAMICFEED and MICFOOD's own ecological farming procedure.
